Adam G. Dickinson, P.App, AACI

With nearly 20 years in the field, Adam is a respected real estate expert, providing valuable advice to government, business, and individual clients.

Adam received his Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation in 2009.

Adam started in the appraisal industry as a university co-op student in 2005 and obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from University of New Brunswick in 2006, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation from the University of British Columbia in 2009.

Governments and land management clients have called on Adam to provide expert advise related to expropriations, negotiations, and rights-of-way. Businesses, governments, and non-profit organizations have trusted Adam’s advice related to valuation of surplus properties – including many special purpose properties like vacant churches, former schools, and defunct industrial facilities.

Adam has been an expert witness in front of the New Brunswick Assessment and Planning Appeal Board and for arbitration under NB Public Works Act.

Not shying away from complex assignments, Adam works with clients analyzing loss in real estate value related to public works projects and title issues. Adam has explored the value of rights-of-way and the impact of easements including natural gas pipelines and private access roads.

Adam has been privileged to have several opportunities to work with First Nations in addressing their current real estate needs and understanding value of land for Specific Claims. The opportunity to combine real estate industry knowledge with thorough historic research has been a rewarding part of his career.

Adam served on the Board of Directors of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) from June 2017 to 2023 and on the Board of Directors of the New Brunswick Association of Real Estate Appraisers (NBAREA) from 2009 to 2023. He currently serves as an advocacy representative for AIC appraisers in New Brunswick.

Adam has presented at multiple conferences about the role of appraisers in the affordable housing sector, including the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association Congress (2017) and the AIC/AI International Valuation Conference (2017).
